Girl Power

PURPOSE: To build self esteem-strengthen their character helping them to understand their limitless
potential.

I was at a gas station not long ago, and witnessed a young girl being beaten up by her boyfriend. My
husband and I came to her rescue. After we called the police, I got a chance to talk to her. I was so
disappointed to hear her make excuses as to why she deserved to be beaten up by her boyfriend. I
told her that she was valuable and worth more than that.   I prayed with her and left her into the
hands of the police officer. More than ever our girls need to know that God created them for a
purpose.

Girl Power is a division of Empower 2 Purpose Inc. for girls 8-18. It is a national division that focuses
on empowering young girls in five areas:
1.        Cultivating a positive self image
2.        To help them understand who they are, and where they are going
3.        To nurture positive/healthy relationships
4.        To foster a sense of community
5.        To nurture their leadership abilities

We believe that if their foundation is solid in these five areas they will be better equipped to make
healthy choices for their lives.

3 OUT OF 5 GIRLS WILL BE SEXUALLY ABUSED BY THE TIME THEY ARE 18. The average age for
a girl to be abused is 8. The third leading cause of death in teenagers is suicide. The girls in our
communities are dealing heavily with peer pressure, eating disorders, drug addiction, at a very young
age. Girl Power is a solution for the community on these issues, and many more.

Empower 2 Purpose will host bi-monthly Girl Power, seminars, school rallies, conferences, camps and
social events that will address the 8-18 age groups in cities across the country.
